How to Make Stuffed Mushrooms

Stuffed mushrooms are one of those foods I like the idea of, but I hadn't actually made them until recently. I picked a filling that didn't require any pre-cooking, although I did throw some mushrooms stems in. Those could be sauteed in advance.

Bite-sized and bursting with flavor!

Ingredients:
-Mushrooms
-Cream cheese
-Other cheeses, grated (cheddar, parmesan...)
-Green onions, chopped finely
-2 pieces cooked bacon
-salt, pepper, paprika
-walnuts, chopped finely

Directions:

1) Clean and prepare mushrooms. If you don't like raw mushrooms, you might want to pre-cook them first, such as sticking them in the oven for a few minutes before stuffing.

2) Mix all the other ingredients together, except paprika, which will be sprinkled on top. If you have time, leave in refrigerator to let the flavors mingle. Add mushroom stems, if desired.

3) Preheat oven to 400 while stuffing the mushrooms. Sprinkle with paprika. Heat in oven for 20-30 minutes, depending on size of mushrooms, etc. You will probably want the cheese gooey and the mushrooms softened.

4) In terms of quantity, err on the side of having too much filling. It makes a very tasty spread for toast or crackers.
